My Ideal Date

I love a variety of dates- relaxed dive bar dates before returning to our hotel for Netflix and chill, and we know how huge of a fan I am of glamourous tasting menu dates. Horror cons, science museums, karaoke and Japanese game shows, sake tasting and more, I’m in!

But if you ask me to plan my favorite type of date, my ideal 24 hours (outside of anything on my Top Dream Dates list) I have a schedule that I’m bound to go to:

The anticipation has been building for us both over the weeks (maybe months!) since you booked our date and finally the day has arrived! Butterflies, excited feelings coursing through our veins.

  1. We meet at noon and head to a unique museum. My penchant for curiosity is endless and I love learning new things, so museums are one of my favorites, anything from art to natural history and everything in between! Something a bit shorter, 2-3 hours. And something unique, I love the unusual!
Imagine something from Fever or the Jurassic World Exhibition! Some I love that I’ve visited before or would love to are the Olfactory Art Keller Scent Museum in NYC, Micropia in Amsterdam, the Mothman Museum in West Virginia, and the Cup of Noodles museum in Yokohama.

  2. Next up, a long day spa for multiple treatments and bath/sauna exploration. After that we head to a spa, indulging ourselves in the many pools and treatments on offer. Join me for a side by side couples massage as we allow our bodies to completely relax. I love to do an long day spa where we can spend 5-6+ hours really relaxing (and whispering sweet nothings underneath the sound of the jets), bouncing between different pools and saunas.
Some of my favorites that I’ve visited and that are on my list to visit next are Sundara Spa in the Wisconsin Dells, QC Termemilano in Milan, Yunessun Spa Theme Park outside of Tokyo, and the QC NY Spa in NYC.

  3. We follow up our relaxation with a tasting menu, where we feed our appetites and taste delicacies off each other’s fingertips. We glam up and head for a restaurant where we tantalize our tastebuds with a tasting menu, trying things we may never normally try. ( If we’re having a duo partner join us for the evening, this would be a good way to have them meet us!) Lots of conversation, laughter and anticipation ensues for the night ahead. We might head for cocktails after dinner if the mood takes us!
A few places I’ve head the pleasure of enjoying and I would go again, mixed with a few I’m dying to try: DiverXO in Madrid, Alchemist in Copenhagen, Cannabis Fine Dining in NYC, K’u’uk in Merida, and Seven Park Place in London.

  4. Back to our suite for cuddles and maybe a game of Mario Kart, where we feel like winners no matter who takes the title! Time for sleep, (if you snore, separate rooms might be the way to go😝) and so we kiss goodnight to dream of each other.

  5. Brunch and goodbye! After waking and getting ourselves ready for the day, we meet for a nice brunch and to reminisce on the memories made the night before. After that we kiss our goodbyes until next time, which hopefully won’t be too long!

Extended dates like a 24 hour allow a greater intimacy, making those all important memories that will bring happy reminders to us on a regular basis until our next rendezvous. It’s unhurried and time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life surrounded by affection and calm.
